Funny Bouldering Video on Sloppy Traverse 7b, Cresciano - Switzerland

Finally, the funny bouldering video was posted by Pti on YouTube.

As it was one of our last days in Cresciano, we were mostly fooling around, so we came up with the idea of doing a funny bouldering video:

One climber sits on his back on a heap of crash pads and the other (main character) walks below the edge of the boulder, pretending to be climbing, till he reaches this first climber who sits on his back. At this point, the climber sitting on his back (me) throws both his feet on the edge of the boulder so it will look like the climber (Georgel) performs the heel hook. When all this is shot from above, it looks like the the action climber hangs in all four limbs on the edge of the boulder - which is pretty hard if not impossible when doing heel hook with both feet and holding slopers.

We had a laugh with this as did all the other climbers and boulderers who saw us shooting this short clip. Please notice Emil bursting into laughter and falling head first into the autumn leaves. Too bad we didn't shoot behind the scenes...

Slopers are the least positive of the handholds. You have to use chalk and press your palm against the handhold. They slope down away from the wall, often requiring an open handed grip to get any sort of friction on them. These are usually considered more difficult holds and are reserved for advanced routes.
