Mammut Smart is a belaying and lowering device intended for use in sport climbing and indoor climbing. Even though in the specifications it says it's not an auto blocking belay device it sure seems to behave like one, at least that's is my impression after watching some videos.
Gearx.com says this about Mammut Smart: "This device sure isn't stupid!". Straightforward and compelling! :-)

Those devices are so expensive! I don't really see the advantage here over more simple belay devices for much less money...?
